The way I look at this is why would an opposing coach continue a game for 4 quarters while getting drummed like that? Pikeville's coach pulled his starters in the first quarter. If I had been the opposing coach, I would have thrown in the towel after the first quarter was over.

Again, You can't tell a child not to play up to his best ability.

The coach of the team being thumped should have called it a game after the first quarter. Nothing positive for either team could come from continuing the contest............

Sometimes life happens. The winning coach backed off the defense and called off the attack very early. The losing team has one positive - they were only outscored 30-2 in the second half. Two positives, actually - They SCORED in the second half. And are we really having this discussion about MIDDLE SCHOOL teams??

I guess if you wanted to get picky ms pemberley we are discussion sportsmanship as well as adults in youth sports. We are not discussing particular athletes ont he teams just the fact a team lost 100-2.

I wasn't jumping down your throat or anything. I was just stating my amazement that Yahoo! has nothing better to do than get involved in a middle school tournament in EKY. I said it say before and I stick to it, I don't see any bad sportsmanship. Just a group of kids who were outmatched by another. It happens.

Again, You can't tell a child not to play up to his best ability.

I agree with you centennialdawg. You cant put kids in off the bench and tell them not to play. That's there time to show what they can do.
